Terms of Service
Effective Date: 25 August 2025
These Terms of Service outline the agreement between you (the client) and me, Devika Abrol, regarding the use of psychotherapy services offered through Devika A. Psychotherapy.
By engaging in therapy sessions, whether in-person or online, you agree to the terms outlined below. These are designed to create a safe, respectful, and professional environment for our work together.
1. Therapy Sessions
-
Duration: A typical individual therapy session lasts 50-60 minutes, unless otherwise agreed.
-
Location: Sessions are offered either in-person at my practice in Singapore or via secure online video conferencing.
-
Suitability: Therapy is not a crisis service. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please seek immediate support from emergency services or a crisis line.
2. Booking and Communication
-
Appointments are booked directly through my online form.
-
I strive to respond to all queries within 1–2 business days.
-
Messages sent outside of session times (unless previously agreed upon) will be acknowledged, but they are not considered part of ongoing therapy.
3. Fees and Payment
-
The current session fee is communicated before your first session.
-
Payment is due before or immediately after each session via the agreed method.
-
Package and sliding-scale rates (where applicable) will be outlined clearly in writing before your sessions begin.
4. Cancellations and Rescheduling
-
I kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
-
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur the full session fee, except in the case of emergency or illness.
-
Consistency is important for therapy, and I’ll always do my best to accommodate changes with understanding and care.
5. Confidentiality
-
Everything shared during sessions remains strictly confidential, except in the following situations:
-
If there is an immediate risk of serious harm to yourself or others.
-
If there is a legal obligation to disclose (e.g., child abuse, court order).

If I consult with a clinical supervisor (this is a standard practice, and your identity remains anonymous.

6. Record Keeping
-
I may keep brief, secure clinical notes as required by ethical practice.
-
These notes are stored securely and never shared with third parties without your written consent, unless required by law.
-
You are welcome to request access to your records at any time.
7. Online Therapy
-
For online sessions, I use secure, encrypted platforms.
-
Please ensure you are in a quiet, private space during online therapy, and that your internet connection is stable.
-
If technical issues arise, we’ll do our best to reschedule or continue the session via phone.
8. Suitability and Limits of Therapy

Therapy is a collaborative process, but outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
-
You are encouraged to share any concerns or feedback at any time during our work together.

You have the right to pause or end therapy whenever you wish.

-
Therapy is a space of mutual respect. Abusive, discriminatory, or harmful behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in the termination of services.

These terms may be updated occasionally. The most current version will always be available on my website.
