How Alternative Therapies Like Jungian, Reiki, and Evidence-Based Therapies Work Together

Healing Beyond One Method

There are many ways to heal, and you do not have to choose just one. Some people feel comfortable with structured evidence-based psychotherapy approaches like CBT or DBT, and  ACT, which offer practical tools and a sense of order. Others prefer more intuitive methods, such as dreamwork or energy healing. Many seek a balance between practical support and deeper meaning.

At Devika A. Psychotherapy, I invite you to show up just as you are. I blend evidence-based methods with alternative methods to help you grow.

Listening to the Language of the Unconscious

Jungian therapy invites us to pay attention to the deeper patterns and symbols that shape our inner world. This approach explores dreams, archetypes, synchronicities, and myth not just as curiosities, but as essential messages from the psyche.

In Singapore, where academic and professional pressures often dominate, Jungian work can help individuals step back, reflect, and reconnect with the parts of themselves beyond the. This way of working can be especially helpful if you feel stuck, want more meaning in your life, or are going through changes in your identity or spirituality. Talking and exploring symbols together often helps people find inner wisdom they did not realise was there.

Reiki as an Emotional Reset

Reiki helps you reconnect with your body calmly and gently. As an energy-based practice, it can support your emotions and help balance your nervous system. Reiki is especially useful if you feel overwhelmed, stressed, or have physical tension that talk therapy alone has not fully addressed.

In Singapore, many people working long hours in high-pressure jobs describe feeling “always on.” Reiki offers a pause, a way to release stress, feel grounded, and allow the body to recover. After sessions, clients often share that they feel lighter, centred, or more open to the deeper work of therapy.

Practical Tools That Keep You Grounded

CBT helps you identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns. For instance, shifting from “I always fail” to “I am learning through challenges” is a cognitive shift that can reduce anxiety. DBT builds on this by teaching skills like mindfulness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance.

In Singapore, CBT and DBT have been used effectively with students struggling under academic pressure, as well as adults managing workplace stress and anxiety. These approaches give you tangible strategies to navigate everyday life with more control and clarity.

Meeting the Whole of You: Mind, Body, and Spirit

You are more than just your thoughts. You are a person with a story, emotions, a body, and perhaps a spiritual side. Integrative therapy brings all of these parts together in one space.

If you come in with anxiety, for example, we might use CBT for your thinking patterns, DBT to work on emotional regulation, Reiki to calm your body, and Jungian work to explore deeper meaning. For these more symbolic and alternative approaches to be effective, it helps to come with an open mind and a willingness to explore beyond the purely logical. In this model, therapy is not just symptom relief but a space to understand what your symptoms might be telling you. It becomes a process of transformation, insight, and meaningful change.

An Approach That Meets You Where You Are

At Devika A. Psychotherapy, I tailor therapeutic approaches to align with individual preferences and requirements. Some individuals may favour a structured, skills-oriented approach, while others may express interest in spirituality or somatic practices. Additionally, many clients prefer an integrated approach that combines these various elements to suit their unique therapeutic journey.

Numerous clients have found calm, clarity, and confidence using this holistic approach. It is particularly supportive for those who are neurodivergent, spiritually curious, emotionally sensitive, or simply seeking a deeper and more personalised therapeutic experience. Whatever your starting point, integrative therapy offers a flexible, compassionate, and client-led space for growth.
